This Privacy Policy explains how S&G Carpet and More (“S&G,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information when you visit our website at sgcarpet.com (the “Site”), contact us, visit our showrooms, or otherwise interact with us. It also describes the rights available to California residents under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (together, the “CCPA”), and the choices you have regarding your information.
Scope: This Policy applies to personal information we collect both online through the Site and offline in the ordinary course of our business — including at our showrooms, over the phone, and through forms, quotes, estimates, and purchases. It does not apply to information collected by third-party websites or services that we do not own or control.
Your Consent and Choices: We rely on a cookie-consent banner and preference tool to obtain your consent for non-essential cookies and tracking technologies before they are used. Where consent is required, it is obtained through an affirmative action (such as selecting “Accept” or setting your preferences), not merely by browsing the Site. You may withdraw or change your consent at any time using the cookie-preference tool or the methods described in Section 6.

We do not sell your personal information for money. However, our use of certain advertising and analytics cookies and pixels may be considered “selling” or “sharing” under the CCPA because it involves disclosing identifiers and internet activity to third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising. You have the right to opt out — see Section 6. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16 years of age.
4. Specific Third-Party Services We Use
Because our Site is designed in part to help you reach us, some third-party services are central to how we collect information. We describe the most important ones below.
Advertising Pixels and Tags
Our Site uses advertising pixels and tags (small pieces of code) placed by us or by our advertising and media partners — which may include social media platforms and our television, radio, and streaming/OTT advertising vendors. These pixels collect information such as your IP address, device and browser details, and pages viewed, and send it to the applicable partner to measure ad performance and support cross-context behavioral advertising. This activity may be considered “sharing” under the CCPA. Our consent-management tool is configured to block non-essential pixels until you consent and to honor opt-out signals. You can opt out as described in Section 6.
CallRail (Call & Form Tracking)
When you call us or submit a web form, we use CallRail to understand how you found us and to improve our marketing and customer service. CallRail may collect your phone number, the number you dialed, the date and time of the call, and related details. Where calls are recorded, we will disclose that the call is being recorded at the beginning of the call, consistent with California’s two-party (all-party) consent requirements. If you do not wish to be recorded, you may ask us to continue without recording or contact us by another method.
RoomVo (Room Visualizer)
Our room-visualizer tool, provided by RoomVo, lets you preview flooring in a space. If you choose to upload or capture a photo of your room, that image is processed to generate the visualization. We do not use these photos to identify you, and they are handled according to RoomVo’s privacy practices. Uploading a photo is entirely optional.
Resonate (Audience Insights)
We work with Resonate to better understand customer needs and identify audiences who may benefit from our services. This may involve disclosing certain identifiers and online-activity information, which can be considered “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising under the CCPA. You have the right to opt out — see Section 6 (“Do Not Sell or Share”) and the cookie-preference tool.
Book a Free In-Home Estimate Scheduler
Our Site includes a “Book a Free In-Home Estimate” scheduling tool that allows customers to request and schedule a Shop-at-Home appointment with us. This scheduling system is operated by S&G and may collect information you provide, including your first name, last name, phone number, email address, service address, city, state, and zip code. We use this information to schedule your appointment, contact you about your request, confirm service availability, prepare for the appointment, and provide related customer service. Information submitted through the scheduler may also be used in our ordinary business records and customer relationship processes, consistent with this Policy. The scheduler is available on a separate S&G-operated scheduling site.
Mailchimp (Email and Text Message Marketing)
We use Mailchimp to send email marketing messages, promotional email blasts, and text-message marketing communications to customers and prospective customers who have provided contact information to us or otherwise consented to receive these communications. Mailchimp may process information such as your name, email address, phone number, marketing preferences, message engagement, and related contact-history details so that we can send relevant offers, announcements, reminders, and updates. You may opt out of marketing emails by using the unsubscribe link included in our emails, and you may opt out of text messages by following the opt-out instructions provided in the message, such as replying “STOP,” where available. We may still send non-marketing communications related to appointments, purchases, service, or other business transactions.
Twilio (Text Messaging Platform)
We use Twilio to help send and manage text-message communications, including marketing text messages, appointment reminders, service-related updates, and other customer communications where permitted by law. Twilio may process information such as your phone number, message content, delivery status, timestamps, and related messaging details so that messages can be sent, delivered, tracked, and managed. Where required, we send marketing text messages only with appropriate consent. You may opt out of marketing text messages by following the instructions provided in the message, such as replying “STOP,” where available. Message and data rates may apply. We may still send non-marketing or transactional messages related to appointments, purchases, service, or other business transactions.
5. How Long We Keep Your Information
We retain each category of personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law. The criteria we use to determine retention periods include:
- The length of our ongoing relationship with you and the duration of any services provided.
- Whether we have a legal, tax, accounting, or regulatory obligation to retain the data.
- Whether retention is advisable given our legal position (e.g., statutes of limitation, disputes).
Category |
Typical Retention |
|
Customer & transaction records |
Duration of the relationship plus the period required by tax/legal obligations. |
|
Inquiry & quote/estimate data |
Retained for as long as reasonably necessary for business, legal, or tax purposes, or until you request deletion. |
|
Website analytics & log data |
Retained for as long as reasonably necessary for business, legal, or tax purposes, or until you request deletion. |
|
Marketing preferences |
Until you opt out or request deletion. |
6. Cookies, Tracking, and Your Opt-Out Rights
Cookies, Pixels, and Similar Technologies
Like most websites, we use cookies, pixels, web beacons, and similar technologies to operate the Site, remember your preferences, analyze traffic, and support advertising. You can control these technologies through your browser settings and through our cookie-preference tool on the Site. Third-party partners — including Google (including DoubleClick/DART cookies), social media platforms, and our advertising and media partners — may set their own cookies and pixels; their practices are governed by their own privacy policies.
Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information
To exercise your right to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, use the “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link in our website footer, or contact us using the details in Section 10.
Global Privacy Control (GPC)
We recognize and honor opt-out preference signals, including the Global Privacy Control (GPC), transmitted by your browser or device. We use a consent-management platform to detect these signals and to manage cookie and pixel consent. When we detect a GPC signal, we treat it as a valid request to opt out of the sale/sharing of personal information for that browser or device, without requiring you to take any additional action.
7. Sensitive Personal Information
We collect a limited amount of sensitive personal information, such as account log-in credentials if you choose to create an account. We use and disclose this information only as necessary to provide the services you request and for other purposes permitted by the CCPA that do not require offering a right to limit. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you. If our practices change, we will update this Policy and provide a “Limit the Use of My Sensitive Personal Information” option as required.
8. Your California Privacy Rights
If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the CCPA:
- Right to Know / Access. Request the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the sources, the purposes, and the categories of third parties to whom we disclosed it.
- Right to Delete. Request that we delete personal information we collected from you, subject to certain exceptions.
- Right to Correct. Request that we correct inaccurate personal information we maintain about you.
- Right to Opt-Out of Sale/Sharing. Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- Right to Limit Sensitive Personal Information. Limit the use and disclosure of your sensitive personal information where applicable.
- Right to Non-Discrimination. We will not discriminate or retaliate against you for exercising any of your privacy rights.
Your right to know is not limited to the prior 12 months; you may request information we have collected since January 1, 2022, where we retain it.
How to Submit a Request
You may submit a request to know, delete, correct, opt out, or limit by:
- Emailing us at privacy@sgcarpet.com; or
- Calling us toll-free at 866-632-2773; or
- Completing the online request form available on our Site.
Authorized Agents
You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf. We may require the agent to provide proof of your written permission and may ask you to verify your own identity directly with us, as permitted by law.
How We Verify and Respond
To protect your information, we will take reasonable steps to verify your identity before responding. We will only request the information reasonably necessary to verify a request — for example, matching a limited set of data points you provide against information we already maintain. We will not require you to create an account, and we will not ask for more personal information than is necessary simply to process a deletion request. We will acknowledge your request within 10 business days and respond within 45 calendar days. If we need more time, we may extend our response by up to an additional 45 days and will notify you of the extension and the reason.
9. Children's Privacy
Our Site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16 years of age. Under the CCPA, we will not sell or share the personal information of consumers we know to be under 16 unless we have affirmative authorization (opt-in) — from the consumer directly if they are between 13 and 15, or from a parent or guardian if the consumer is under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us at privacy@sgcarpet.com and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards — including encryption and periodic backups — designed to protect personal information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Any transmission of information is at your own risk.
12. Third-Party Links
Our Site may contain links to third-party websites and services. This Policy does not apply to those third parties, and we are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party sites you visit.
