Where Sheet Vinyl Earns Its Place
Laundry Rooms and Mudrooms. Continuous, waterproof, and forgiving of wet boots and dropped detergent.
Bathrooms. A great waterproof option for guest baths or rental properties.
Kitchens. Modern sheet vinyl handles dropped pans, water, and is easy to clean as it can be wet mopped without complaint.
Rental Properties and Investment Homes. Durable, cost-effective at scale, and easy for tenants to keep clean.
What Modern Sheet Vinyl Looks Like
If your last exposure to sheet vinyl was twenty years ago, the category has changed. Today's products use high-resolution printing to convincingly reproduce wood, stone, tile, and geometric patterns. From a normal standing distance, most people can't tell modern sheet vinyl from the materials it's mimicking.
Sheet Vinyl vs. LVP
Both are vinyl, both are waterproof, both come in convincing wood and stone looks. The differences:
Construction. Sheet vinyl is a large flexible sheet (typically 6-foot or 12-foot widths). LVP is either a rigid plank construction that must be floated or flexible planks that must be glued down individually.
Feel underfoot. Sheet vinyl is softer and slightly cushioned. LVP feels closer to hardwood underfoot. Sheet vinyl is more susceptible to scratches and gouges due to the soft cushion it provides.
Seams. Sheet vinyl can often cover an entire room with no seams (depending on room size and roll width), which matters in wet areas. LVP has seams between every plank.
Installation. Sheet vinyl is glued down. LVP can be floated or glued down depending on the product.
For a kitchen with a designer's eye, LVP is often the choice. For a laundry room or rental, sheet vinyl can be more practical.

Armstrong (with one of the broadest sheet vinyl catalogs in the industry), Mannington, Aladdin, and Mohawk, among others.
Installation Matters
Sheet vinyl installation is the kind of job that's deceptively tricky to do well. Cuts have to fit tightly around toilets, tubs, and irregular walls. The subfloor has to be smooth. Sheet vinyl telegraphs every bump and ridge underneath. The adhesive has to be applied evenly across the entire room.
Every sheet vinyl installation we do is backed by our Lifetime Installation Warranty.
See It in Your Space
Sheet vinyl looks different rolled out in your laundry room than it does displayed on a showroom wall. Two ways to see it the right way:
