Common Questions from Alamo Homeowners
How do in-home appointments work in Alamo, and will I be waiting around all day?
You get a set appointment time, not a wide arrival window, so you are not stuck waiting half the day for someone to show up. We schedule Alamo in-home estimates six days a week and work around your calendar. At the visit, your consultant measures, walks you through the options, and hands you a written estimate before leaving, so you finish that one appointment already knowing your choices and your price, with no waiting days for a quote.
How long does flooring installation typically take?
Most Alamo installations finish in one to three days, depending on square footage, the product, and any subfloor prep involved. A single bedroom of carpet can be done in a few hours, while a full house of hardwood, Luxury Vinyl Plank, or laminate can take several days, depending on the size and scope of the job. Before work begins, we’ll provide an estimated timeline, so you know what to expect.
My home is older. What happens if something turns up once the old flooring comes out?
We plan for as much as we can upfront. During your free in-home estimate, we take measurements, evaluate the project, and provide a detailed quote. The price we quote is the price you pay, and if we overlook something that falls within the scope of the flooring project, that's on us.
Occasionally, especially in older homes, conditions may be discovered after the existing flooring is removed that could not reasonably be identified beforehand. Examples may include damaged subflooring, structural issues, water damage, mold, or other conditions that fall outside the scope of flooring installation.
Because we are licensed flooring contractors, repairs of this nature may require a licensed general contractor or other qualified professional. If we encounter an issue outside our scope of work or license, we'll stop work and show you exactly what we found. The homeowner is responsible for arranging and paying for any necessary repairs before flooring installation can continue. If repairs outside the scope of flooring work are needed, they would be handled separately by a licensed contractor before we can continue your flooring installation.
Do I need to move my furniture before installation?
Not unless you want to. Most installations need at least some furniture moved, and our team handles it as part of the job. We talk through what needs to move during your in-home estimate in Alamo and itemize it on your written quote.
