What is Hardwood?
Solid Hardwood — A single plank milled from the tree — the classic choice. Install method: Nail or Staple. Requires a raised or wood foundation. Cannot be installed over concrete.
Engineered Hardwood — A wood veneer bonded to a plywood base for maximum stability. Install method: Nail, Staple, Glue, or Float. Compatible with raised foundations and concrete slabs.

Good for kids and pets?
Hardwood is a traditional, forever floor, one that ages beautifully alongside your family.
Is it hard to maintain?
No. Sweep, vacuum, or dry mop as much as needed. Periodically spray-and-wipe with a cleaner like the Bona Cleaning System. Wet mopping is not recommended. For spills, wipe up as soon as possible with dry or damp cloth. Avoid flooding the area and make sure to dry the floor.
Will it match my sample?
Wood is a natural product, so each plank is unique. Every piece receives the same stain but accepts it differently based on grain and texture.
Will it ever scratch or dent?
No floor is scratch or dentproof. Some species are harder than others, but all hard surfaces can be damaged by sharp objects or heavy impacts.
How long will it last?
Homes over 100 years old still boast their original hardwood floors. With proper care, hardwood can be the last floor you ever buy.
Can hardwood be refinished?
Many hardwood floors can be refinished—but with proper care, it's rarely needed. Note: sanding removes the original factory finish, which voids the Lifetime Wear Warranty on most prefinished floors.
