Durability
Livermore laminate flooring is constructed with a special aluminum oxide layer that helps prevent dings, scratches, stains and burns. This type of flooring is ideal for high-traffic areas and busy families.
Affordability
Most homeowners know that laminate flooring is more affordable than tile, stone or hardwood options. These types of floors are also designed to last for many years, so you’ll be able to eliminate regular replacement costs. Most shoppers can find laminate floors in Livermore that fit both their budget and style needs.
Ease of Care
Laminate floors require no special upkeep. They should be kept free of wet spots, swept regularly and wet mopped with special laminate cleaners. These simple steps will ensure that your laminate floors stay in great shape.
Installing Laminate Flooring in Livermore
At S&G Carpet and More, we offer professional installation of laminate, but we also offer laminate options for those who want to take care of installation themselves. If you plan on installing your own laminate flooring in Livermore, be aware that you’ll be able to choose from four different types of laminate:
- Glueless laminate floors are designed to be laid directly onto substrate. You should use a thin plastic underlay beneath laminate flooring to prevent water damage.
- Glued laminate floors must be attached with glue at each tongue and groove. They are very difficult to separate once attached. These are generally considered the original laminate floors.
- Laminate floors with attached underlay are available with several different types of tongue-and-groove systems. These floors have a pre-attached underlay designed to reduce noise and create a moisture barrier.
- Pre-glued laminate floors are already assembled but must be cut to fit your space. A thin plastic underlay should be used beneath these floors to create a moisture barrier.

Livermore
Livermore is a city in Alameda County. The estimated population as of 2011 was 82,039. Livermore is located on the eastern edge of California’s San Francisco Bay Area.
Livermore was founded by William Mendenhall and named after Robert Livermore, his friend and a local rancher who settled in the area in the 1830s. Livermore is the home of the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, for which the chemical element livermorium is named (and thus, placing the city’s name in the periodic table). Its south side, home to local vineyards, has developed several executive subdivisions near Ruby Hill. The city has also redeveloped its downtown district. The city is considered part of the Tri-Valley area, including Amador, Livermore and San Ramon Valleys.
