Engineered Hardwood Floors in Blackhawk

If you’re looking for an incredibly durable and attractive hardwood flooring option for your home or business, it’s a good idea to choose engineered hardwood floors in Blackhawk. These hardwood floors are comprised of three to 10 different layers, or plies, of wood that are glued together for added strength. This layered construction offers significant durability advantages in comparison to traditional solid hardwood floors in Blackhawk. Homeowners who need to choose hardwood floors for high-traffic areas or areas generally not considered suitable for hardwood flooring will benefit from choosing engineered hardwood floors.

Blackhawk Solid Hardwood Floors

Solid hardwood flooring in Blackhawk is constructed from 100% hardwood that has been milled from lumber, meaning that it is less durable than engineered hardwood flooring. The organic materials from which the flooring is made are also susceptible to changes over time when exposed to extreme temperatures or moisture. Such exposure can lead to shrinking or expansion of the hardwood flooring. Also known as warping, many of these issues can be fixed by sanding and refinishing the floor from time to time.

If you’re shopping for hardwood flooring in Blackhawk for a kitchen, below-ground room or bathroom, it’s best to avoid solid hardwood floors. These types of floors are not designed to withstand the moisture exposure generally seen in these areas.

Picking Blackhawk hardwood floors for your property should be fun. Stop by one of our S&G Carpet and More showrooms for help picking the right hardwood floors for your space.

Blackhawk, CA

Blackhawk is a community located in Contra Costa County. Blackhawk is located east of Danville, Oakland, and San Ramon. Tassajara borders Blackhawk in the southeast with Dublin and Dublin to the south. Blackhawk is a master planned community, so it’s no surprise it is host to a country club, two golf courses, a sports complex, and many restaurants.

Blackhawk was founded by Ansel Mills Easton and his son-in-law, William Q. Ward in 1917. It was named Blackhawk, after an Irish racehorse that Easton’s family had once owned. However it was not truly developed into the bustling community Blackhawk is today until 1975, when a man named Ken Behring purchased the land. Blackhawk was originally criticized as an economic disaster but clearly proved the critics wrong as it still stands today as a beacon of lavish homes and rolling estates.
